The Pasta Corral is a seasonal restaurant and bar. We will be open for the 2021 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally from Friday July 23th through Saturday August 14th. Our end of season blow-out will take place on Saturday, August 21st, 5:00pm.
Our hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., weather permitting. At The Pasta Corral we offer delicious pasta with either Bolognese or Alfredo sauce, and the option to add meatballs or grilled chicken. Each entrée is served with a generous piece of homemade cheesy garlic bread. We offer gluten-free options, and Caesar salad is also available. Our bar serves a selection of ice-cold beers starting at just $3.00 and South Dakota wines starting at $5.00 per glass. We also offer bottled water, sodas and select malt beverages. There are $3.00 beer and $5.00 appetizer specials for Happy Hour, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. daily. Custer Camp 1874 Vacation Rental! This spacious 1200 sq. ft. area is the walkout lower level of a custom log home completed in early 2014. Two sets of French doors open onto a large aggregate patio with barbecue grill, outdoor dining, comfortable seating and parking just steps away. Walk inside and you will immediately feel right at home. The open living room has a 60-inch HD TV with cable, DVD & Blu-ray, oversize couch and a built-in desk. The adjacent alcove has a custom-made 8–foot log pool table for your enjoyment. A full dine-in gourmet kitchen has all-new stainless steel appliances, granite counter, and is stocked with dishes, cookware and basic cooking supplies. The huge bathroom has a separate shower, jacuzzi tub, double sink and private commode. When your day is done, the bunkroom has two sets of extra comfy queen-over-queen log bunk beds, which will accommodate up to eight people.

This beautiful cabin is wheelchair accessible with a ramp leading up to the deck, extra wide doorways and seating in shower. There is also a queen-size hide-a-bed in the living area which would be perfect for two children. A fire pit is just steps away, for making s'mores and stargazing! New large 4G flat screen satellite TV and blue ray DVD player for your viewing enjoyment. This cabin is THE place to get away from it all, relax in luxurious comfort and revitalize your body and spirit! A double Caribbean hammock hung between two old oak trees is the ideal spot to take a nap while communing with nature! Wildlife abounds in this area! You will see deer, wild turkey, bald eagles, elk and much more. The coyotes will serenade you from a distance every evening. We have several bird feeders and bird houses on the property. The mountain blue birds will amaze you with their beautiful song and their brilliant blue color! In August of 1874 General George Armstrong Custer camped in this valley. You will be experiencing history! The book describing Custer's expedition is available for your enjoyment. History buffs will love it! With National Forest on three sides, this is also a great place for hiking and ATV-ing. Direct access to Kelly Spur Road which connects with over 3500 miles of ATV trails. We provide coffee, tea, flour, sugar and basic spices. The kitchen is equipped with plenty of dishes, silverware, glassware, pots, pans, utensils, dish soap, napkins & paper towels. A brand new Maytag washer & dryer are available for your use. Please bring your own detergent, etc. The all-new stainless steel appliances include refrigerator with ice maker, five burner stove with oven, microwave & dishwasher. Granite countertops in both kitchen and bath. Plenty of thick, fluffy towels are provided, as well as soaps, and a hairdryer. We have high speed satellite internet and cable 4G TV. Cell service is very limited throughout the Black Hills. As you travel through the Black Hills, cell service will come & go. If you need to use a land line, we live on the adjacent property and are happy to let you use our phone. We are also available should you have any other needs. This is THE place to get away from it all and enjoy relaxing in the beautiful Black Hills! Check out the view from the king size bed! Wouldn't you like to wake up to this??? We're sorry, but unfortunately we do not allow pets and do not allow smoking. Also, bikers need to be aware that there is a 1 mile well-maintained gravel road leading to the property. If this is a problem for you, please contact us. We would be happy to have you park your bikes at our adjacent property, if you would like. Garage space is available for a nominal fee.
Custer Camp 1874 is located on 40 pristine acres in the heart of beautiful Vanocker Canyon, just 12.5 miles south of Sturgis, midway between Wonderland Cave and Dalton Lake. It is home to The Pasta Corral and Custer Camp 1874 Vacation Rental. Just 30 minutes from Deadwood/Lead and 45 minutes from Mount Rushmore, it is the ideal ‘home base’ for your Black Hills vacation. Surrounded by National Forest, there are over 1.2 million acres of public land and thousands of miles of ATV and snowmobile trails available. ATV rentals can be delivered right to your door. Let us make your next vacation the memory of a lifetime! General George Armstrong Custer led a massive reconnaissance expedition through the Black Hills in 1874. It was described as, “A journey to the last unknown place.” There were more than 1000 men, and one woman, a black cook named Sarah Campbell. Custer Camp 1874 is the location where General Custer and his men camped August 9-10, 1874, on this Black Hills Expedition. In his journal, Private Forsyth described the spring-fed pond near current Vanocker Canyon Road as, “…a beautiful stream fed by an immense spring of the coldest water, save ice-water, I ever drank.” This is the headwater for Little Elk Creek.
FROM STURGIS: Take Vanocker Canyon Road (I-90 exit 32) south 12.5 miles. Custer Camp 1874 is 0.6 mile past the turn off for Wonderland Cave on the west (right) side of the road. FROM RAPID CITY: Take West Chicago St. to the west. It will turn into South Canyon Road and will then turn into Nemo Road. Drive ~ 17 miles to the town of Nemo and continue 0.2 miles past Nemo to Vanocker Canyon Road and turn right (north). Go 4.2 miles and Custer Camp 1874 is on the west (left) side of the road. If you reach Wonderland Cave you have gone 0.6 mile too far. FROM DEADWOOD/LEAD: Take Highway 385 south 7.8 miles to the Boondocks and turn left (east) on Nemo Road. Continue 12.9 miles and turn left (north) on Vanocker Canyon Road. Go 4.2 miles and Custer Camp 1874 is on the west (left) side of the road. If you reach Wonderland Cave you have gone 0.6 mile too far.
